Ever wondered exactly what the European Union is, what it does and why it is represented in Australia? Now is your time to find out! The EU-Australia relationship is 60 years old and a lot has happened in that time. Dr Fabio Spadi will give you the ABC of the EU and explain its relationship with Australia. You will have an opportunity to ask questions about what happens behind the headlines, we will be following Chatham House Rules. The event will be held at the University of Canberra, 11B44 and will begin with drinks and canapes from 5.30-6.00pm. The presentation followed by Q&A will begin at 6pm and run until 7pm. Every week as a UC Student you are eligible to use the UCX Food Pantry. Swing by to get non-perishable food items including canned beans, pasta sauces, long-life milk and noodles. You can also find some perishable items such as bread, milk and veggies delivered to us from OzHarvest. All UC students are eligible to 10 points per week to spend however they would like.

Clean Up Australia Day

Join UC staff, students and the community at our UC Clean Up Australia Day event on March 2nd 2021 Meet at the Concourse at 11am for a safety briefing, collect your PPE and garbage bags before making your way around campus collecting any rubbish you find long the way then head to the Ngunnawal Garden for a thank you BBQ for participants. There has never been a better time to tackle the surge in single use disposable items, such as takeaway coffee cups, food packaging, masks, and sanitised wipes; all of which are polluting our local parks, bushland, streets, waterways, and campus. In fact, research reveals more than 1 in 3 (34%) Australian households self-identified as producing more packaging waste during lockdown periods in 2020 compared to previous years, and more than 1 in 2 (55%) reported they are now more concerned about product packaging waste than they were in 2019. #ecoUC #CleanUpAustralia #StepUpToCleanUp
